2022- an update

Well, it’s been a minute since I’ve posted. We have faced many challenges since 2017…

But today I just want to remember a good day and what our life currently looks like.

Anna has monthly treatments- a combo of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. She feels blah in the hospital, but feels pretty good at home. This was our first week home, and we jumped right back into our homeschool routine. Monday we found out the kids had won their history alive competition by placing 2nd and 3rd in their division! Josh and I were so happy for them. It was a labor of love by the whole family! Anna wanted everything from acting (including scenes, costumes, accents) to interviews, to pictures… Caleb kept it more simple.

Joyce came on Wednesday and the kids love it when she comes- she brings banana grams and circuits. Homeschooling three kids isn’t easy, but Joyce makes it easier!

Thursday Joyce couldn’t come so we headed to the library after a somewhat rough morning. Thankfully the weather was nice and we stopped at the park after. The kids mostly spent time in the creek- such a beautiful place! We came home, did “rest time” and then the kids played in the woods near our home. Lovingly referred to as “Skinneria,” the woods hosts many hours of free play- sometimes with neighbors, sometimes just the Skinner kids.

Josh picked up the lawnmower from the tune up and we had black bean burgers for dinner. After dinner, we had a lively conversation about Gen X, Babyboomers, Millenials. The kids were only slightly confused! Anna and Caleb mostly understood and wanted to know what their generation would be called. Time will tell, although Anna’s has been named Gen Z.

That’s just a quick update of life in 2022! Today it looks like snow, so maybe a day inside!
