Looking Back

On Friday night, some of the girls from the house and I went to dinner and then up to the highest point in our city.  We had a wonderful evening full of laughter and yummy food.  It was such a blessing to me to get to have dinner with these girls! I don't get out of the house without Anna much, so it was a treat to have a "girls' night".  I've been so blessed to know each girl in the house and am so thankful for our time in the international house this year.  I've been reflecting on the last year for the past couple of weeks...

I definitely doubted our decision to move back in several times.  But now, looking back, I can see why the Lord kept us here! I've loved having community in the house during my first year as a stay-at-home-mom.  I may have gone crazy without the girls and my dear neighbor!! Also, I've learned a lot about dealing with frustrations in a healthy way, through God's word and the counsel of others.  Living with others isn't easy- especially living with others not in your family or circle of friends.  But, I know this experience has helped me to seek the Lord more for wisdom and encouragement.  Not to mention, I've had the privilege of seeing God work in the lives of the girls here in our house - and its been nothing short of amazing.

Last summer, when we were living in the house along, we had NO idea who the future tenants would be.  Our house changed from a guy's house to a girl's house in a short time.  We honestly thought that the girls from our other girls' house would move into our house, seeing as that one was being sold.  Nope, that's not at all what happened.  One girl out of  nine moved in our house!  Everyone else is new, and I believe God brought each one here (we hardly advertise, just rely on word-of-mouth).  It's been great to see how He has brought us all together, and I pray that we can continue these relationships for years to come.

Thanks, girls, for all the memories and for living in the house this year! Thank you Lord, for bringing us together!
