Week One with Anna

We arrived at the hospital at 12:30 am and she was born at 3:14 am!!! I'm so glad it was a short labor...my contractions didn't even start until around 9 pm that night. It was pretty wild, just ask Josh :)

Grandma and Grandpa came right away to see their new granddaughter!

We found out on Saturday that Anna had Jaundice, so she had to stay in the nursery under a special light. They brought her in the room every 3 hours to feed. She had a portable light with her and looked like a glow worm!

She came home on Monday! We were sooooo glad to leave the hospital, even though we were taken care of so well. My mom spoiled her and us with meals and lots of play time. It was a blessing to have her here for Anna's first week.

This little girl has stolen our hearts!! We are so thrilled to have her here!! I'm constantly calling her Anna Banana...it's pretty fun.

At the doc appt on Wednesday, we learned that she was already back to birth weight!! We really felt comforted by that. Since then she has been eating well and having lots of poopy diapers, which are both indicators that she is healthy.

As for me, I'm recovering well. Walking around is getting easier, and I'm able to take more naps now. We have had someone else cook for us every night since Anna came. What a blessing. The Lord is definitely taking care of us. Josh has to go back to work on Tuesday, but I'm planning to have a friend come over and help that day and Wednesday too. Next weekend Josh's family will come for a visit :).
